40:49
وَقَالَٱلَّذِينَفِىٱلنَّارِلِخَزَنَةِجَهَنَّمَٱدْعُوا۟رَبَّكُمْيُخَفِّفْعَنَّايَوْمًامِّنَٱلْعَذَابِ ٤٩
Saheeh International
And those in the Fire will say to the keepers of Hell, "Supplicate your Lord to lighten for us a day from the punishment."

Tafseer 'Tafsir Ibn Kathir' (IN)
Adapun firman Allah Swt.:
Dan orang-orang yang berada dalam neraka berkata kepada penjaga-penjaga neraka Jahanam, "Mohonkanlah kepada Tuhanmu supaya Dia meringankan azab dari kami barang sehari.” (Al-Mu’min: 49)
Setelah mereka mengetahui bahwa Allah Swt. tidak memperkenankan permohonan mereka, dan Dia tidak mendengar doa mereka, bahkan sebaliknya dikatakan kepada mereka:
"Tinggallah dengan hina di dalamnya, dan janganlah kamu berbicara dengan Aku.” (Al-Mu’minun: 108)
