16:63
تَٱللَّهِلَقَدْأَرْسَلْنَآإِلَىٰٓأُمَمٍمِّنقَبْلِكَفَزَيَّنَلَهُمُٱلشَّيْطَٰنُأَعْمَٰلَهُمْفَهُوَوَلِيُّهُمُٱلْيَوْمَوَلَهُمْعَذَابٌأَلِيمٌ ٦٣

Saheeh International

By Allah, We did certainly send [messengers] to nations before you, but Satan made their deeds attractive to them. And he is the disbelievers' ally today [as well], and they will have a painful punishment.

Tafseer 'Qurtubi Tafseer' (AR)

قوله تعالى : تالله لقد أرسلنا إلى أمم من قبلك فزين لهم الشيطان أعمالهم فهو وليهم اليوم ولهم عذاب أليم قوله تعالى : تالله لقد أرسلنا إلى أمم من قبلك فزين لهم الشيطان أعمالهم أي أعمالهم الخبيثة . هذا تسلية للنبي - صلى الله عليه وسلم - بأن من تقدمه من الأنبياء قد كفر بهم قومهم .فهو وليهم اليوم أي ناصرهم في الدنيا على زعمهم . وقيل : فهو وليهم أي قرينهم في النار . اليوم يعني يوم القيامة ، وأطلق عليه اسم اليوم لشهرته . وقيل يقال لهم يوم القيامة : هذا وليكم فاستنصروا به لينجيكم من العذاب ، على جهة التوبيخ لهم .ولهم عذاب أليم في الآخرة .
