9:86
وَإِذَآأُنزِلَتْسُورَةٌأَنْءَامِنُوا۟بِٱللَّهِوَجَٰهِدُوا۟مَعَرَسُولِهِٱسْتَـْٔذَنَكَأُو۟لُوا۟ٱلطَّوْلِمِنْهُمْوَقَالُوا۟ذَرْنَانَكُنمَّعَٱلْقَٰعِدِينَ ٨٦

Saheeh International

And when a surah was revealed [enjoining them] to believe in Allah and to fight with His Messenger, those of wealth among them asked your permission [to stay back] and said, "Leave us to be with them who sit [at home]."

Tafseer 'Qurtubi Tafseer' (AR)

قوله تعالى وإذا أنزلت سورة أن آمنوا بالله وجاهدوا مع رسوله استأذنك أولو الطول منهم وقالوا ذرنا نكن مع القاعدين [ ص: 147 ]انتدب المؤمنون إلى الإجابة وتعلل المنافقون . فالأمر للمؤمنين باستدامة الإيمان وللمنافقين بابتداء الإيمان . و ( أن ) في موضع نصب ; أي بأن آمنوا . و ( الطول ) الغنى ; وقد تقدم . وخصهم بالذكر لأن من لا طول له لا يحتاج إلى إذن لأنه معذور . ( وقالوا ذرنا نكن مع القاعدين ) أي العاجزين عن الخروج .
