وَإِذَاصُرِفَتْأَبْصَٰرُهُمْتِلْقَآءَأَصْحَٰبِٱلنَّارِقَالُوا۟رَبَّنَالَاتَجْعَلْنَامَعَٱلْقَوْمِٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ ٤٧

Saheeh International

And when their eyes are turned toward the companions of the Fire, they say, "Our Lord, do not place us with the wrongdoing people."

Tafseer 'Ibn Kathir' (AR)

قوله "وإذا صرفت أبصارهم تلقاء أصحاب النار قالوا ربنا لا تجعلنا مع القوم الظالمين" قال الضحاك عن ابن عباس إن أصحاب الأعراف إذا نظروا إلى أهل النار وعرفوهم قالوا ربنا لا تجعلنا مع القوم الظالمين. وقال السدي وإذا مروا بهم يعني بأصحاب الأعراف بزمرة يذهب بها إلى النار قالوا: ربنا لا تجعلنا مع القوم الظالمين. وقال عكرمة تجدد وجوههم للنار فإذا رأوا أصحاب الجنة ذهب ذلك عنهم وقال عبد الرحمن بن زيد بن أسلم في قوله "وإذا صرفت أبصارهم تلقاء أصحاب النار" فرأوا وجوههم مسودة وأعينهم مزرقة "قالوا ربنا لا تجعلنا مع القوم الظالمين".
