وَإِنتَدْعُوهُمْإِلَىٱلْهُدَىٰلَايَسْمَعُوا۟وَتَرَىٰهُمْيَنظُرُونَإِلَيْكَوَهُمْلَايُبْصِرُونَ ١٩٨

Saheeh International

And if you invite them to guidance, they do not hear; and you see them looking at you while they do not see.

Tafseer 'Qurtubi Tafseer' (AR)

وإن تدعوهم إلى الهدى شرط ، والجواب لا يسمعوا .وتراهم مستأنف في موضع الحال . يعني الأصنام . ومعنى النظر فتح العينين إلى المنظور إليه ; وتراهم كالناظرين إليك . وخبر عنهم بالواو وهي جماد لا تبصر ; لأن الخبر جرى على فعل من يعقل . وقيل : كانت لهم أعين من جواهر مصنوعة فلذلك قال : وتراهم ينظرون وقيل : المراد بذلك المشركون ، أخبر عنهم بأنهم لا يبصرون حين لم ينتفعوا بأبصارهم .
