فَلَمَّاعَتَوْا۟عَنمَّانُهُوا۟عَنْهُقُلْنَالَهُمْكُونُوا۟قِرَدَةًخَٰسِـِٔينَ ١٦٦

Saheeh International

So when they were insolent about that which they had been forbidden, We said to them, "Be apes, despised."

Tafseer 'Tafsir Ahsanul Bayaan' (BN)

[১] عَتَوا এর অর্থ হল, আল্লাহর অবাধ্যতায় সীমা অতিক্রম করা। মুফাসসিরদের মাঝে এ ব্যাপারে মত পার্থক্য রয়েছে যে, যারা নিষেধকারী তারাই শুধু পরিত্রাণ পেয়েছিল, আর বাকী দুই দল আল্লাহর আযাবের আওতায় এসেছিল? নাকি পাপকারী দলই শুধু আল্লাহর আযাবের আওতায় এসেছিল আর দুটি দল পরিত্রাণ পেয়েছিল? ইমাম ইবনে কাসীর (রঃ) দ্বিতীয় মতটিকেই প্রাধান্য দিয়েছেন।
