وَجَعَلْنَافِيهَارَوَٰسِىَشَٰمِخَٰتٍوَأَسْقَيْنَٰكُممَّآءًفُرَاتًا ٢٧

Saheeh International

And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water.

Tafseer 'Qurtubi Tafseer' (AR)

وجعلنا فيها أي في الأرض رواسي شامخات يعني الجبال ، والرواسي الثوابت ، والشامخات الطوال ; ومنه يقال : شمخ بأنفه إذا رفعه كبرا .وأسقيناكم ماء فراتا أي وجعلنا لكم سقيا . والفرات : الماء العذب يشرب ويسقى منه الزرع . أي خلقنا الجبال وأنزلنا الماء الفرات . وهذه الأمور أعجب من البعث . وفي بعض الحديث قال أبو هريرة : في الأرض من الجنة الفرات والدجلة ونهر الأردن . وفي صحيح مسلم : سيحان وجيحان والنيل والفرات كل من أنهار الجنة .
