لِنَجْعَلَهَالَكُمْتَذْكِرَةًوَتَعِيَهَآأُذُنٌوَٰعِيَةٌ ١٢

Saheeh International

That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it.

Tafseer 'Tafsir Ahsanul Bayaan' (UR)

تاکہ اسے تمہارے لئے نصیحت اور یادگار بنا دیں اور (تاکہ) یاد رکھنے والے کان اسے یاد رکھیں۔ (۱) ۱۲۔۱یعنی یہ فعل کہ کافروں کو پانی میں غرق کردیا اور مومنوں کو کشتی میں سوار کرا کے بچا لیا تمہارے لیے اس کو عبرت و نصیحت بنا دیں تاکہ تم اس سے نصیحت حاصل کرو اور اللہ کی نافرمانی سے بچو۔ یعنی سننے والے اسے سن کر یاد رکھیں اور وہ بھی اس سے عبرت پکڑیں۔
