إِذَاتُتْلَىٰعَلَيْهِءَايَٰتُنَاقَالَأَسَٰطِيرُٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ١٥

Saheeh International

When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples."

Tafseer 'Waseet Tafseer' (AR)

وقوله : ( إِذَا تتلى عَلَيْهِ آيَاتُنَا قَالَ أَسَاطِيرُ الأولين ) كلام مستأنف جار مجرى التعليل للنهى عن طاعته ، والأساطير جمع أسطورة بمعنى أكذوبة .أى : لا تطعه - لأنه فضلا عما اتسم به من صفات قبيحة - تراه إذا تتلى عليه آياتنا الدالة على وحدانيتنا وقدرتنا . . وعلى صدقك يا محمد فيما تبلغه عنا ، قال هذا العتل الزنيم ، هذه الآيات أكاذيب الأولين وترهاتهم .
