67:10
وَقَالُوا۟لَوْكُنَّانَسْمَعُأَوْنَعْقِلُمَاكُنَّافِىٓأَصْحَٰبِٱلسَّعِيرِ ١٠

Saheeh International

And they will say, "If only we had been listening or reasoning, we would not be among the companions of the Blaze."

Tafseer 'Tabari Tafseer' (AR)

القول في تأويل قوله تعالى : وَقَالُوا لَوْ كُنَّا نَسْمَعُ أَوْ نَعْقِلُ مَا كُنَّا فِي أَصْحَابِ السَّعِيرِ (10) فَاعْتَرَفُوا بِذَنْبِهِمْ فَسُحْقًا لأَصْحَابِ السَّعِيرِ (11)يقول تعالى ذكره: وقال الفوج الذي ألقي في النار للخزنة: (لَوْ كُنَّا ) في الدنيا(نَسْمَعُ أَوْ نَعْقِلُ ) من النذر ما جاءونا به من النصيحة، أو نعقل عنهم ما كانوا يدعوننا إليه (مَا كُنَّا ) اليوم (فِي أَصْحَابِ السَّعِيرِ ) يعني: أهل النار.
