ٱسْتَحْوَذَعَلَيْهِمُٱلشَّيْطَٰنُفَأَنسَىٰهُمْذِكْرَٱللَّهِأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَحِزْبُٱلشَّيْطَٰنِأَلَآإِنَّحِزْبَٱلشَّيْطَٰنِهُمُٱلْخَٰسِرُونَ ١٩

Saheeh International

Satan has overcome them and made them forget the remembrance of Allah . Those are the party of Satan. Unquestionably, the party of Satan - they will be the losers.

Tafseer 'Qurtubi Tafseer' (AR)

قوله تعالى : استحوذ عليهم الشيطان أي : غلب واستعلى ، أي : بوسوسته في الدنيا . وقيل : قوي عليهم . وقال المفضل : أحاط بهم . ويحتمل رابعا أي : جمعهم وضمهم . يقال : أحوذ الشيء أي : جمعه وضم بعضه إلى بعض ، وإذا جمعهم فقد غلبهم وقوي عليهم وأحاط بهم .فأنساهم ذكر الله أي : أوامره في العمل بطاعته . وقيل : زواجره في النهي عن معصيته . والنسيان قد يكون بمعنى الغفلة ، ويكون بمعنى الترك ، والوجهان محتملان هنا .أولئك حزب الشيطان طائفته ورهطه ألا إن حزب الشيطان هم الخاسرون في بيعهم ، لأنهم باعوا الجنة بجهنم ، وباعوا الهدى بالضلالة .
