The people of Noah denied before them, and the companions of the well and Thamud

Tafseer 'Tafsir Ahsanul Bayaan' (UR)

ان سے پہلے نوح کی قوم نے اور رس والوں (١) نے اور ثمود نے۔ ١٢۔١ اصحاب الرس کی تعیین میں مفسرین کے درمیان بہت اختلاف ہے۔ امام ابن جریر طبری نے اس قول کو ترجیح دی ہے جس میں انہیں اصحاب اخدود قرار دیا گیا ہے، جس کا ذکر سورہ بروج میں ہے۔ (تفصیل کے لئے دیکھئے ابن کثیر و فتح القدیر، (وَّعَادًا وَّثَمُــوْدَا۟ وَاَصْحٰبَ الرَّسِّ وَقُرُوْنًــۢا بَيْنَ ذٰلِكَ كَثِيْرًا) 25۔ الفرقان:38)
