41:45
وَلَقَدْءَاتَيْنَامُوسَىٱلْكِتَٰبَفَٱخْتُلِفَفِيهِوَلَوْلَاكَلِمَةٌسَبَقَتْمِنرَّبِّكَلَقُضِىَبَيْنَهُمْوَإِنَّهُمْلَفِىشَكٍّمِّنْهُمُرِيبٍ ٤٥

Saheeh International

And We had already given Moses the Scripture, but it came under disagreement. And if not for a word that preceded from your Lord, it would have been concluded between them. And indeed they are, concerning the Qur'an, in disquieting doubt.

Tafseer 'Ibn Kathir' (AR)

"ولقد أتينا موسى الكتاب فاختلف فيه" أي كذب وأوذي "فاصبر كما صبر أولوا العزم من الرسل" "ولولا كلمة سبقت من ربك إلى أجل مسمى" بتأخير الحساب إلى يوم المعاد "لقضي بينهم" أي لعجل لهم العذاب بل لهم موعد لن يجدوا من دونه موئلا "وإنهم لفي شك منه مريب" أي وما كان تكذيبهم له عن بصيرة منهم لما قالوا بل كانوا شاكين فيما قالوه غير محققين لشيء كانوا فيه. هكذا وجهه ابن جرير وهو محتمل والله أعلم.
