40:77
فَٱصْبِرْإِنَّوَعْدَٱللَّهِحَقٌّفَإِمَّانُرِيَنَّكَبَعْضَٱلَّذِىنَعِدُهُمْأَوْنَتَوَفَّيَنَّكَفَإِلَيْنَايُرْجَعُونَ ٧٧

Saheeh International

So be patient, [O Muhammad]; indeed, the promise of Allah is truth. And whether We show you some of what We have promised them or We take you in death, it is to Us they will be returned.

Tafseer 'Ibn Kathir' (AR)

يقول تعالى آمرا رسوله صلى الله عليه وسلم بالصبر على تكذيب من كذبه من قومه فإن الله تعالى سينجز لك ما وعدك من النصر والظفر على قومك وجعل العاقبة لك ولمن اتبعك في الدنيا والآخرة "فإما نرينك بعض الذي نعدهم" أي في الدنيا وكذلك وقع فإن الله تعالى أقر أعينهم من كبرائهم وعظمائهم أبيدوا في يوم بدر ثم فتح الله عليه مكة وسائر جزيرة العرب في حياته صلى الله عليه وسلم وقوله عز وجل "أو نتوفينك فإلينا يرجعون" أي فنذيقهم العذاب الشديد في الآخرة.
