أَوَلَمْيَسِيرُوا۟فِىٱلْأَرْضِفَيَنظُرُوا۟كَيْفَكَانَعَٰقِبَةُٱلَّذِينَكَانُوا۟مِنقَبْلِهِمْكَانُوا۟هُمْأَشَدَّمِنْهُمْقُوَّةًوَءَاثَارًافِىٱلْأَرْضِفَأَخَذَهُمُٱللَّهُبِذُنُوبِهِمْوَمَاكَانَلَهُممِّنَٱللَّهِمِنوَاقٍ ٢١

Saheeh International

Have they not traveled through the land and observed how was the end of those who were before them? They were greater than them in strength and in impression on the land, but Allah seized them for their sins. And they had not from Allah any protector.

Tafseer 'Qurtubi Tafseer' (AR)

قوله تعالى : أولم يسيروا في الأرض فينظروا في موضع جزم عطف على " يسيروا " ويجوز أن يكون في موضع نصب على أنه جواب ، والجزم والنصب في التثنية والجمع واحد . " كيف كان عاقبة " اسم كان والخبر في " كيف " . و " واق " في موضع خفض معطوف على اللفظ . ويجوز أن يكون في موضع رفع على الموضع فرفعه وخفضه واحد ; لأن الياء تحذف وتبقى الكسرة دالة عليها ، وقد مضى الكلام في معنى هذه الآية في غير موضع فأغنى عن الإعادة .
