39:58
أَوْتَقُولَحِينَتَرَىٱلْعَذَابَلَوْأَنَّلِىكَرَّةًفَأَكُونَمِنَٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ ٥٨

Saheeh International

Or [lest] it say when it sees the punishment, "If only I had another turn so I could be among the doers of good."

Tafseer 'Waseet Tafseer' (AR)

ثم ذكر - سبحانه - مقالة ثالثة لها فقال : ( أَوْ تَقُولَ ) هذه النفس ( حِينَ تَرَى العذاب ) فى الآخرة ( لَوْ أَنَّ لِي كَرَّةً ) أى رجعة إلى الدنيا ( فَأَكُونَ ) فيها ( مِنَ المحسنين ) لأقوالهم وأفعالهم ، وعقائدهم ، بحيث أخلص العبادة لله - تعالى - وأطيعه فى السر والعلن .وهكذا يصور القرآن الكريم أحوال النفوس فى الآخرة ، تصوير مؤثرا بليغاً ، يحمل كل عاقل على الإِيمان الصالح الذى ينفعه فى ذلك اليوم الهائل الشديد .
