33:73
لِّيُعَذِّبَٱللَّهُٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَوَٱلْمُنَٰفِقَٰتِوَٱلْمُشْرِكِينَوَٱلْمُشْرِكَٰتِوَيَتُوبَٱللَّهُعَلَىٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَوَٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِوَكَانَٱللَّهُغَفُورًارَّحِيمًۢا ٧٣

Saheeh International

[It was] so that Allah may punish the hypocrite men and hypocrite women and the men and women who associate others with Him and that Allah may accept repentance from the believing men and believing women. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.

Tafseer 'Baghawy Tafseer' (AR)

قوله - عز وجل - : ( ليعذب الله المنافقين والمنافقات والمشركين والمشركات ) قال : مقاتل : ليعذبهم بما خانوا الأمانة ونقضوا الميثاق ( ويتوب الله على المؤمنين والمؤمنات وكان الله غفورا رحيما ) يهديهم ويرحمهم بما أدوا من الأمانة .وقال ابن قتيبة : أي : عرضنا الأمانة ليظهر نفاق المنافق وشرك المشرك فيعذبهما الله ، ويظهر إيمان المؤمن فيتوب الله عليه ، أي : يعود عليه بالرحمة والمغفرة إن حصل منه تقصير في بعض الطاعات .
