28:75
وَنَزَعْنَامِنكُلِّأُمَّةٍشَهِيدًافَقُلْنَاهَاتُوا۟بُرْهَٰنَكُمْفَعَلِمُوٓا۟أَنَّٱلْحَقَّلِلَّهِوَضَلَّعَنْهُممَّاكَانُوا۟يَفْتَرُونَ ٧٥

Saheeh International

And We will extract from every nation a witness and say, "Produce your proof," and they will know that the truth belongs to Allah, and lost from them is that which they used to invent.

Tafseer 'Qurtubi Tafseer' (AR)

قوله تعالى : ونزعنا من كل أمة شهيدا أي نبيا ; عن مجاهد وقيل : هم عدول الآخرة يشهدون على العباد بأعمالهم في الدنيا والأول أظهر ; لقوله تعالى : فكيف إذا جئنا من كل أمة بشهيد وجئنا بك على هؤلاء شهيدا وشهيد كل أمة رسولها الذي يشهد عليها .[ ص: 284 ] والشهيد : الحاضر أي أحضرنا رسولهم المبعوث إليهم فقلنا هاتوا برهانكم أي حجتكم . فعلموا أن الحق لله أي علموا صدق ما جاءت به الأنبياء وضل عنهم أي ذهب عنهم وبطل . ما كانوا يفترون أي يختلقونه من الكذب على الله تعالى من أن معه آلهة تعبد .
