Al-Qasas : 40

28:40
فَأَخَذْنَٰهُوَجُنُودَهُۥفَنَبَذْنَٰهُمْفِىٱلْيَمِّفَٱنظُرْكَيْفَكَانَعَٰقِبَةُٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ ٤٠

Saheeh International

So We took him and his soldiers and threw them into the sea. So see how was the end of the wrongdoers.

Tafseer 'Qurtubi Tafseer' (AR)

فأخذناه وجنوده وكانوا ألفي ألف وستمائة ألف فنبذناهم في اليم أي طرحناهم في البحر المالح . قال قتادة : بحر من وراء مصر يقال له إساف أغرقهم الله فيه . وقال وهب والسدي : المكان الذي أغرقهم الله فيه بناحية القلزم يقال له بطن مريرة ، وهو إلى اليوم غضبان وقال مقاتل ، يعني نهر النيل وهذا ضعيف والمشهور الأول فانظر يا محمد [ ص: 266 ] كيف كان عاقبة الظالمين أي آخر أمرهم .
