وَٱجْعَللِّىلِسَانَصِدْقٍفِىٱلْءَاخِرِينَ ٨٤

Saheeh International

And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations.

Tafseer 'Ibn Kathir' (AR)

وقوله: "واجعل لي لسان صدق في الآخرين" أي واجعل لي ذكرا جميلا بعدي أذكر به ويقتدى بي في الخير كما قال تعالى: "وتركنا عليه في الآخرين سلام على إبراهيم كذلك نجزي المحسنين" قال مجاهد وقتادة "واجعل لي لسان صدق في الآخرين" يعني الثناء الحسن قال مجاهد كقوله تعالى: "وآتيناه في الدنيا حسنة" الآية كقوله: "وآتيناه أجره في الدنيا" الآية قال ليث ابن أبي سليم كل ملة تحبه وتتولاه وكذا قال عكرمة.
