26:4
إِننَّشَأْنُنَزِّلْعَلَيْهِممِّنَٱلسَّمَآءِءَايَةًفَظَلَّتْأَعْنَٰقُهُمْلَهَاخَٰضِعِينَ ٤

Saheeh International

If We willed, We could send down to them from the sky a sign for which their necks would remain humbled.

Tafseer 'Ibn Kathir' (AR)

ثم قال تعالى "إن نشأ ننزل عليهم من السماء آية فظلت أعناقهم لها خاضعين" أي لو نشاء لأنزلنا آية تضطرهم إلى الإيمان قهرا ولكن لا نفعل ذلك لأنا لا نريد من أحد إلا الإيمان الاختياري وقال تعالى "ولو شاء ربك لآمن من في الأرض كلهم جميعا أفأنت تكره الناس حتى يكونوا مؤمنين" وقال تعالى "ولو شاء ربك لجعل الناس أمه واحدة" الآية فنفذ قدره ومضت حكمته وقامت حجته البالغة على خلقه بإرسال الرسل إليهم وإنزال الكتب عليهم.
