25:40
وَلَقَدْأَتَوْا۟عَلَىٱلْقَرْيَةِٱلَّتِىٓأُمْطِرَتْمَطَرَٱلسَّوْءِأَفَلَمْيَكُونُوا۟يَرَوْنَهَابَلْكَانُوا۟لَايَرْجُونَنُشُورًا ٤٠

Saheeh International

And they have already come upon the town which was showered with a rain of evil. So have they not seen it? But they are not expecting resurrection.

[১] অর্থাৎ লূত জাতির জনপদ। নিকৃষ্টতম বৃষ্টি মানে পাথর বৃষ্টি। কুরআনের বিভিন্ন জায়গায় একথা বলা হয়েছে। হিজায বাসীদের বানিজ্য কাফেলা ফিলিস্তিন ও সিরিয়া যাবার পথে এ এলাকা অতিক্রম করতো। সেখানে তারা কেবল ধ্বংসাবশেষ দেখতো না বরং আশপাশের বিভিন্ন সম্প্রদায়ের মুখে লূত জাতির শিক্ষণীয় ধ্বংস কাহিনীও শুনতো। [দেখুন-কুরতুবী, ফাতহুল কাদীর]
