وَعَادًاوَثَمُودَا۟وَأَصْحَٰبَٱلرَّسِّوَقُرُونًۢابَيْنَذَٰلِكَكَثِيرًا ٣٨

Saheeh International

And [We destroyed] 'Aad and Thamud and the companions of the well and many generations between them.

Tafseer 'Tafsir Ahsanul Bayaan' (UR)

اور عادیوں اور ثمودیوں اور کنوئیں والوں کو (١) اور ان کے درمیان کی بہت سی امتوں کو(٢) (ہلاک کر دیا)۔ ٣٨۔١ رس کے معنی کنویں کے ہیں۔ اَصْحَابُ الرَّس کنوئیں والے۔ اس کی تعین میں مفسرین کے درمیان اختلاف ہے، امام ابن جریر طبری نے کہا کہ اس سے مراد اصحاب الاخدود ہیں جن کا ذکر سورۃ البروج میں ہے (ابن کثیر) ٣٨۔٢قرن کے صحیح معنی ہیں ہم عصر لوگوں کا ایک گروہ۔ جب ایک نسل کے لوگ ختم ہو جائیں تو دوسری نسل دوسرا قدیم زمانہ کہلائے گی۔ (ابن کثیر)، اس کے معنی ہیں ہر نبی کی امت بھی ایک زمانہ ہو سکتی ہے۔
