فَكَأَيِّن مِّن قَرۡيَةٍ أَهۡلَكۡنَٰهَا وَهِىَ ظَالِمَةٌ فَهِىَ خَاوِيَةٌ عَلَىٰ عُرُوشِهَا وَبِئۡرٍ مُّعَطَّلَةٍ وَقَصۡرٍ مَّشِيدٍ٤٥

Saheeh International

And how many a city did We destroy while it was committing wrong - so it is [now] fallen into ruin - and [how many] an abandoned well and [how many] a lofty palace.

অতঃপর আমরা বহু জনপদ ধ্বংস করেছি যেগুলোর বাসিন্দা ছিল যালেম। ফলে এসব জনপদ তাদের ঘরের ছাদসহ ধ্বংসস্তূপে পরিণত হয়েছে। অনুরূপভাবে বহু কূপ পরিত্যক্ত হয়েছে এবং অনেক সুদৃঢ় প্রাসাদও!
