21:97
وَٱقْتَرَبَٱلْوَعْدُٱلْحَقُّفَإِذَاهِىَشَٰخِصَةٌأَبْصَٰرُٱلَّذِينَكَفَرُوا۟يَٰوَيْلَنَاقَدْكُنَّافِىغَفْلَةٍمِّنْهَٰذَابَلْكُنَّاظَٰلِمِينَ ٩٧

Saheeh International

And [when] the true promise has approached; then suddenly the eyes of those who disbelieved will be staring [in horror, while they say], "O woe to us; we had been unmindful of this; rather, we were wrongdoers."

Tafseer 'Ibn Kathir' (AR)

وقوله " واقترب الوعد الحق " يعني يوم القيامة إذا حصلت هذه الأهوال والزلازل والبلابل أزفت الساعة واقتربت فإذا كانت ووقعت قال الكافرون هذا يوم عسر ولهذا قال تعالى " فإذا هي شاخصة أبصار الله الذين كفروا " أي من شدة ما يشاهدونه من الأمور العظام يا ويلنا أي يقولون يا ويلنا قد كنا في غفلة من هذا " أي في الدنيا " بل كنا ظالمين يعترفون بظلمهم لأنفسهم حيث لا ينفعهم ذلك.
