17:94
وَمَامَنَعَٱلنَّاسَأَنيُؤْمِنُوٓا۟إِذْجَآءَهُمُٱلْهُدَىٰٓإِلَّآأَنقَالُوٓا۟أَبَعَثَٱللَّهُبَشَرًارَّسُولًا ٩٤

Saheeh International

And what prevented the people from believing when guidance came to them except that they said, "Has Allah sent a human messenger?"

Tafseer 'Tafsir Ahsanul Bayaan' (UR)

لوگوں کے پاس ہدایت پہنچ چکنے کے بعد ایمان سے روکنے والی صرف یہی چیز رہی کہ انہوں نے کہا کیا اللہ نے ایک انسان کو ہی رسول بنا کر بھیجا؟ (١) ٩٤۔١ یعنی کسی انسان کا رسول ہونا، کفار و مشرکین کے لئے سخت تعجب کی بات تھی، وہ یہ بات مانتے ہی نہ تھے کہ ہمارے جیسا انسان، جو ہماری طرح چلتا پھرتا ہے، ہماری طرح کھاتا پیتا ہے، ہماری طرح انسانی رشتوں میں منسلک ہے، وہ رسول بن جائے۔ یہی تعجب ان کے ایمان میں مانع رہا۔
