17:75
إِذًالَّأَذَقْنَٰكَضِعْفَٱلْحَيَوٰةِوَضِعْفَٱلْمَمَاتِثُمَّلَاتَجِدُلَكَعَلَيْنَانَصِيرًا ٧٥

Saheeh International

Then [if you had], We would have made you taste double [punishment in] life and double [after] death. Then you would not find for yourself against Us a helper.

Tafseer 'Qurtubi Tafseer' (AR)

قوله تعالى : إذا لأذقناك ضعف الحياة وضعف الممات أي لو ركنت لأذقناك مثلي [ ص: 270 ] عذاب الحياة في الدنيا ومثلي عذاب الممات في الآخرة ; قاله ابن عباس ومجاهد وغيرهما . وهذا غاية الوعيد . وكلما كانت الدرجة أعلى كان العذاب عند المخالفة أعظم . قال الله - تعالى - : يانساء النبي من يأت منكن بفاحشة مبينة يضاعف لها العذاب ضعفين وضعف الشيء مثله مرتين ، وقد يكون الضعف النصيب ; كقوله - عز وجل - : لكل ضعف أي نصيب . وقد تقدم في الأعراف .
