17:106
وَقُرْءَانًافَرَقْنَٰهُلِتَقْرَأَهُۥعَلَىٱلنَّاسِعَلَىٰمُكْثٍوَنَزَّلْنَٰهُتَنزِيلًا ١٠٦

Saheeh International

And [it is] a Qur'an which We have separated [by intervals] that you might recite it to the people over a prolonged period. And We have sent it down progressively.

Tafseer 'Ibn Kathir' (AR)

وقوله "وقرآنا فرقناه" أما قراءة من قرأ بالتخفيف فمعناه فصلناه من اللوح المحفوظ إلى بيت العزة من السماء الدنيا ثم نزل مفرقا منجما على الوقائع إلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في ثلاث وعشرين سنة قاله عكرمة عن ابن عباس. وعن ابن عباس أيضا أنه قرأ فرقناه بالتشديد أي أنزلناه آية آية مبينا مفسرا ولهذا قال: "لتقرأه على الناس" أي لتبلغه الناس وتتلوه عليهم أي "على مكث" أي مهل "ونزلناه تنزيلا" أي شيئا بعد شيء.
