16:95
وَلَاتَشْتَرُوا۟بِعَهْدِٱللَّهِثَمَنًاقَلِيلًاإِنَّمَاعِندَٱللَّهِهُوَخَيْرٌلَّكُمْإِنكُنتُمْتَعْلَمُونَ ٩٥

Saheeh International

And do not exchange the covenant of Allah for a small price. Indeed, what is with Allah is best for you, if only you could know.

Tafseer 'Qurtubi Tafseer' (AR)

قوله تعالى : ولا تشتروا بعهد الله ثمنا قليلا إنما عند الله هو خير لكم إن كنتم تعلمونقوله تعالى : ولا تشتروا بعهد الله ثمنا قليلا إنما عند الله هو خير لكم إن كنتم تعلمون نهى عن الرشا وأخذ الأموال على نقض العهد ; أي لا تنقضوا عهودكم لعرض قليل من الدنيا . وإنما كان قليلا وإن كثر لأنه مما يزول ، فهو على التحقيق قليل ، وقيل : إن هذه الآية ولا تشتروا نزلت في امرئ القيس بن عابس الكندي وخصمه ابن أسوع ، اختصما في أرض فأراد امرؤ القيس أن يحلف فلما سمع هذه الآية نكل وأقر له بحقه ; والله أعلم .
