16:107
ذَٰلِكَبِأَنَّهُمُٱسْتَحَبُّوا۟ٱلْحَيَوٰةَٱلدُّنْيَاعَلَىٱلْءَاخِرَةِوَأَنَّٱللَّهَلَايَهْدِىٱلْقَوْمَٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ ١٠٧

Saheeh International

That is because they preferred the worldly life over the Hereafter and that Allah does not guide the disbelieving people.

Tafseer 'Waseet Tafseer' (AR)

وقوله - سبحانه - : ( ذلك بِأَنَّهُمُ استحبوا الحياة الدنيا على الآخرة ) بيان للأسباب التى جعلتهم محل غضب الله ونقمته .واسم الإِشارة " ذلك " يعود إلى كفرهم بعد إيمانهم ، أو إلى ما توعدهم الله - تعالى - به من غضب عليهم ، وعذاب عظيم لهم .أى : ذلك الذى جعلهم يرتدون عن دينهم ، ويكونون محل غضب الله ونقمته ، من أسبابه أنهم آثروا الحياة الدنيا وشهواتها على الآخرة وما فيها من ثواب .( وأن الله ) - تعالى - ( لاَ يَهْدِي القوم الكافرين ) إلى الصراط المستقيم ، لأنهم حين زاغوا عن الحق أزاغ الله قلوبهم .
