قَالُوا۟تَٱللَّهِلَقَدْءَاثَرَكَٱللَّهُعَلَيْنَاوَإِنكُنَّالَخَٰطِـِٔينَ ٩١

Saheeh International

They said, "By Allah, certainly has Allah preferred you over us, and indeed, we have been sinners."

Tafseer 'Tanweer Tafseer' (AR)

والإيثار : التفضيل بالعطاء . وصيغة اليمين مستعملة في لازم الفائدة ، وهي علمهم ويقينهم بأن ما ناله هو تفضيل من الله وأنهم عرفوا مرتبتَه ، وليس المقصود إفادة تحصيل ذلك لأن يوسف عليه السلام يعلمه . والمراد : الإيثار في الدنيا بما أعطاه الله من النعم .واعترفوا بذنبهم إذ قالوا : { وإنّ كنا لخاطئين }. والخاطىء : فاعل الخطيئة ، أي الجريمة ، فنفعت فيهم الموعظة .
