ٱرْجِعُوٓا۟إِلَىٰٓأَبِيكُمْفَقُولُوا۟يَٰٓأَبَانَآإِنَّٱبْنَكَسَرَقَوَمَاشَهِدْنَآإِلَّابِمَاعَلِمْنَاوَمَاكُنَّالِلْغَيْبِحَٰفِظِينَ ٨١

Saheeh International

Return to your father and say, "O our father, indeed your son has stolen, and we did not testify except to what we knew. And we were not witnesses of the unseen,

Tafseer 'Tafsir Ibn Kathir' (IN)

Firman Allah Swt.:

...dan sekali-kali kami tidak dapat menjaga (mengetahui) hal yang gaib.

Qatadah dan Ikrimah mengatakan, maksudnya adalah 'kami tidak mengetahui bahwa anakmu mencuri'. Abdur Rahman ibnu Zaid ibnu Aslam mengatakan bahwa 'kami tidak mengetahui di belakang kami bahwa dia (Bunyamin) mencuri sesuatu. Sesungguhnya kami hanya menanyakan apakah balasan bagi pencuri itu.'
