وَيَقُولُونَلَوْلَآأُنزِلَعَلَيْهِءَايَةٌمِّنرَّبِّهِۦفَقُلْإِنَّمَاٱلْغَيْبُلِلَّهِفَٱنتَظِرُوٓا۟إِنِّىمَعَكُممِّنَٱلْمُنتَظِرِينَ ٢٠

Saheeh International

And they say, "Why is a sign not sent down to him from his Lord?" So say, "The unseen is only for Allah [to administer], so wait; indeed, I am with you among those who wait."

Tafseer 'Qurtubi Tafseer' (AR)

قوله تعالى ويقولون لولا أنزل عليه آية من ربه فقل إنما الغيب لله فانتظروا إني معكم من المنتظرين يريد أهل مكة ; أي هلا أنزل عليه آية ، أي معجزة غير هذه المعجزة ، فيجعل لنا الجبال [ ص: 237 ] ذهبا ويكون له بيت من زخرف ، ويحيي لنا من مات من آبائنا . وقال الضحاك : عصا كعصا موسى .فقل إنما الغيب لله أي قل يا محمد إن نزول الآية غيب . فانتظروا أي تربصوا . إني معكم من المنتظرين لنزولها . وقيل : انتظروا قضاء الله بيننا بإظهار المحق على المبطل .
